Mr. Sledzik’s practice is primarily focused in the area of Employment and Commercial Litigation and includes Non-Competition Agreements, Employment Discrimination Litigation, Civil Rights Litigation, and Contract Disputes. He has extensive experience in complex matters in State and Federal Courts, and has represented clients in arbitration and mediation settings as well.

Representative Matters

  • Obtained $320,000 jury verdict in favor of former employee in sexual harassment case.
  • Obtained and recovered $800,000 award in favor of client after a bench trial in case involving breach of a lease for client’s commercial building
  • Represented employee in defending allegations of breach of non-competition agreement, defeated former employer’s attempts to restrain client from working
  • Obtained directed verdict at close of trial in favor of client defeating disability discrimination claim of employee
  • Defended clients, transit company and architectural design firm, from claims of non-payment of wages and overtime wages brought by former employees
  • Defended municipality against allegations of discrimination in awarding large public works project
  • Serve as a neutral arbitrator in a variety of employment disputes and administrative proceedings, including terminations and disciplinary matters for incompetence and misconduct, leave abuse and sexual harassment, and in matters regarding return to work orders after job injury claims
  • Obtained summary judgment for municipality in challenge to job termination of employee who failed drug test
  • Defended client, a member of limited liability company, in a case brought by an investor in the company, obtained partial summary judgment dismissing fraud, breach of contract and corporate alter ego claims
  • Represented commercial real estate investment company against website designer in breach of contract case seeking ownership of source code for site
